So recently it’s come to my attention that CERTAIN Tumblr users (namely derelictsoldier, who’s going to be the main example used in this little post) have gotten the whole point of the “mun isn’t muse” deal mixed up. So for the record, it does not:
Give you the liberty of using slurs without repercussion IC or OOC (after you refuse to tag them or even tone them down) (http://derelictsoldier.tumblr.com/post/106453600010).
Not tag said slurs (among other things) even OOC and then refuse to when asked (http://gyazo.com/94cc55bf1fc46aa5b4b6059b486a8854).
Simultaneously claim that your blog is both so meta you refuse to tag even the most basic triggers OOC, and yet the views of the muse do not represent those of the mun in any way (http://derelictsoldier.tumblr.com/post/106455346215).
The character is a run is a horrible, horrible guy. I know that. That’s part of his character and I represent it to the best of my ability. But I also don’t outrightly refuse to tag his shit OOC, even though I’ve been asked by multiple people multiple times (I haven’t, but hypothetically). I know where the line is, and I know how not to cross it. That’s something you need to learn to do.
Bottom line, don’t use your muse (especially an OC- somebody you CREATE and can do whatever you choose with ) to show what an ableist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, racist, etc. shitstain you are in real life and expect no repercussions because “mun doesn’t equal muse”. Thanks.
*And by the way -depending on wether this person is black or not- i have a WHOLE lot else to say about the implications of an “albino black girl”.
